ImageWhen you hear the term "foundation" you may think of a house or building.  As Christians we have a lot in common with a building.  One type of building described in the Bible is the temple.  The temple was a place for God to meet with man.  The temple was a place for God to dwell in. It was however, God's ultimate desire to live in us. He wanted us to be His temple. He wanted us to be His dwelling place.

It was always God's intention to have a relationship with you and me.  Unfortunately because of sin, each one of us starts out life  as a damaged house.  As a damaged house, God can only start rebuilding when you surrender your life to Him and allow Him to begin His reconstruction of you.  This rebuilding project takes time and effort. However, God has made a promise to do the work and finish the job if you will just turn over the building to Him.  It is God's desire not only to live with us but also through us, as He makes each one of us His own special dwelling place. When we study God's Word and allow His Spirit to minister to us we are transformed from the self-willed person we use to be, before we first asked Jesus to come into our life, into the person God wants us to be.

"He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock." (Luke 6:48)

As with any rebuilding project it is important that the foundation of your life be made secure, then the rest of the construction will stand even aganst the storms you face in life.

This new solid foundation for our life is Jesus. He is the cornerstone of the foundation upon which everything else is built. He is the reason and the example for our rebuilding project.  With Jesus as the cornerstone, we begin to see answers to our questions about life. We find clarity about God's plan for us as He prepares us to be reconstructed and transformed into His likeness; which is for His glory.
